The long answer:
Andy Corbett’s life began typically enough – an average American kid who loved the book Curious George. When he was very young, a rare condition forced him to wear leg braces resulting in relentless bullying by schoolmates. But he wouldn’t trade that cruelty for anything because it helped prepare him for the rough-and-tumble world of advertising. Despite his below-average intelligence, Andy earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Alabama where he became an All-American football player and even met President John F. Kennedy.
After graduating, Andy enlisted in the United States Army, where he befriended a former shrimp fisherman named Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue. Andy and ol’ Bubba hit it off right away and agreed to go into the shrimpin’ business together once their service ended. While on patrol in Vietnam, their platoon was ambushed. Andy saved four of the men, including platoon leader First Lieutenant Dan Taylor. His good friend Bubba was killed. Andy was heartbroken. Andy himself was wounded and received the Medal of Honor from President Lyndon B. Johnson.
After Andy was discharged from the army, he found himself at a crossroads. Should he get a ping-pong endorsement and use that money to buy a shrimpin’ boat – or – should he go into advertising? He went with his instincts and enrolled in The Creative Circus Ad School in Atlanta. This proved to be a wise decision indeed. Everyone knows the shrimpin’ business is a losin’ game. Since then he has worked on such brands as the Atlanta Hawks, Braves, Thrashers, Moe’s burritos, Carvel Ice Cream, Cheerwine Soft Drink, NBA, Xfinity, Chevy, Adobe, Cheetos, Seattle Mariners, Seattle Aquarium, Taco Time, Tableau, T-Mobile, Front, Google, and American Girl.
Andy still loves to play ping pong.
